Akshay doing it for 21st time with Karisma-Kareena

>> Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Akshay Kumar’s bond with the Kapoor sisters, Karisma and Kareena, goes back a long way. Not many will know that although SAUGANDH (1991) was Akshay Kumar’s debut film, it was Promod Chakraborty’s DEEDAR, opposite Karisma Kapoor that he first signed as a hero. Since then it’s been a long journey for the ‘Khiladi’ and his association with the Kapoor sisters has always been quite fruitful.

Amongst the many films that saw Akshay with Karisma, the ones that stand out are Sunil Darshan’s JAANWAR (which marks the comeback of Akshay Kumar after seven consecutive flops), HAAN MAINE BHI PYAAR KIYA and EK RISHTA…THE BOND OF LOVE. With Kareena it has been BEWAFA and AJNABEE amongst others. The first film that Akshay signed opposite Kareena was Sunil Darshan’s TALAASH…THE HUNT BEGINS.

The ‘Khiladi’ recalls how Kareena, who was a baby during Akshay’s DEEADAR days, used to come to her sister’s set to watch the shooting. Obviously the Darshan brothers, Dharmesh and Sunil have long been associated with Karisma and Akshay and so Kareena’s inclusion was always on the cards. Though TALAASH flopped, yet Akshay and Kareena continued to be paired and Abbas-Mustan gave the pair their first hit with AITRAAZ. This was followed by further flops films like DOSTI-FRIENDS FOREVER and TASHAN.

However, with KAMBAKKHT ISHQ looking like a winner, it appears that the Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor pair is here to stay for a while now, even though Akshay-Karisma pair may now be done with, as Karisma has almost retired and is happily married.

Incidentally KAMBAKKHT ISHQ is the 21st film that Akshay Kumar is doing with the Kapoor sisters, a record of sorts!

Sexy Akshay is a good kisser: Denise

Denise Richards loved locking lips with Akshay Kumar in Kambakkht Ishq.

Hollywood actress Denise Richards admits that she loved locking lips with Bollywood actor and “sexiest man in India” Akshay Kumar in their upcoming film Kambakkht Ishq.

The former Bond girl is quite impressed with Kumar’s kissing skills and is adamant no man in Bollywood can match him.

“Akshay was so down to earth and very genuine. He made me feel very comfortable, plus he’’s a good kisser! I can see why he’’s India’’s sexiest actor!” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

She also admitted she struggled with the language barrier while filming her first Bollywood movie - but got a helping hand from her co-stars.

“I couldn”t believe how kind everyone was and they were so passionate about the film,” she said.

“All the actors were very sweet and gorgeous! They helped translate when I needed to understand something. I had a great experience and hope to do another Bollywood movie,” she added.

Akshay calls Kareena a Bitch

>> Sunday, May 24, 2009

The promo of Sajid Nadiadwala’s movie Kambakkth Ishq has its leading stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor calling each other canine names.

The movie’s trailer was set to air on television from this weekend but it didn't because the Censor Board deemed it unfit for mass viewing and has given it an ‘A’ certificate.

According to reports the promo has certain objectionable content. The Board’s regional officer is quoted as saying that the promo as has Kareena calling Akshay “a dog”. Akshay responds to her in same vein by calling her “a bitch”. If that’s not objectionable enough there’s a dialogue that says that women are only meant for making love.

Though the above dialogues could be part of the film’s comedy, the Censor Board chose to gave it an ‘A’ certificate because the context of the dialogues is not established in the promos.

It means that the promos can now be shown only in theatres and that too with movies that have ‘A’ certification.

‘Kambakkth Ishq’ is one of the most awaited films of this year. Apart from Akshay and Kareena, it has cameos by Hollywood stars like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh.

Akshay Kareena Kiss Hesitantly

>> Friday, May 22, 2009

It seems Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor got too close for comfort during the shoot of their upcoming film KAMBHAKT ISHQ. Since Akki treats Kareena like a kid and is quite protective about her, the kissing scene required for the film was a major issue for the two actors, since they share a different chemistry off the sets.

CHECK OUT : Akshay Kumar surrenders...

But, call it being thorough professionals, the actors gave in to the demands of the plotline and the kissing scene was finally shot without much delay. The film is all set to hit the screens this year and is expected to break Akki's jinx at the box-office.
